What to do, what to see

for the Pentecost weekend

Enjoy an extended weekend

3 days to rest, visit and enjoy the countryside around the ideal Palace of the Factor Cheval. We’ll guide you in your choices so that this weekend goes as well as possible in Drôme des Collines and Ardèche Verte.

Ideas!

Unusual activities

This is the time to make some unusual visits and discoveries. We have found some activities that you might enjoy!

* Attend the goat milking with Stephane at the goats-that-dance in Grand-Serre. Every evening without an appointment starting at 6:30 p.m.
* Save the Ideal Palace by playing our Explor’Game ®“The Quest for the 3 Giants” with your family at Hauterives
* Rent an electric scooter to ride the trails, woods and countryside with (almost) no effort on Saturday, June 4
* Walk in the footsteps of the letter carrier during the organizedThe Postman’s Walk” on Monday, June 6 in Hauterives.

About art

and exhibitions

Two exhibitions not to be missed this weekend:

* “The Dream of Water” by Jean-Michel Othoniel. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of its construction, the Facteur Cheval’s Ideal Palace in Hauterive welcomes for the first time in its midst another work: that of the Saint-Etienne artist Jean-Michel Othoniel made of fountains and stained glass. (Exhibition visible until Nov 6).

* Festival l’Art et la matière on several communes: in Moras-en-Valloire, Le Grand-Serre and Châteauneuf-de-Galaure . These exhibitions aim to promote contemporary art and the artistic, architectural and cultural heritage of yesterday and today.

Mini-cruise on the Rhône

A bucolic and original ride on the Rhône. Let yourself be carried by the waves of the river between Saint-Vallier and Andancette. Slowly but surely…

The plus: bring your picnic to eat at the Clos Nougier, at the foot of the Marc Seguin bridge between Andance and Andancette. Last suspension bridge still in circulation.
Next departure from Saint-Vallier, Sunday, June 5 at 11:30 a.m.

Visit of the priories

To discover a priory is to go back in time. Three sites to discover:
Priory of Manthes: in a typical Drôme des Collines village with a washhouse, a wooded park, a church, a square surrounded by plane trees and small restaurants. The church is open and the priory is visible from the outside.

Priory of La Motte de Galaure. It is located above the village with a magnificent view of the hills and the Galaure valley.

Prieuré de Charrière in Châteauneuf-de-Galaure. A church and remains of a former 15th century Fransiscan convent.
Guided tour on Saturday June 4th and Sunday June 5th from 15h00 to 17h00
