Are you looking for an activity to do with your family, in the country or in the city and have fun together? Try geocaching! This game, which allows you to participate in a treasure hunt thanks to GPS coordinates, has followers all over the world and there are many caches in Porte de DrômArdèche.

How does it work?

It’s very simple, you just need your smartphone and a good pair of sneakers. Download and install the “Geocaching” application on Android or app store, create your account, geolocate yourself and let’s go for the adventure! Start playing by looking for your first geocache, there is bound to be one near you! You can also choose your cache on the map of the application, there is only to go there and find the famous cache.

The day begins at the Ideal Palace built by the factor Cheval… The children are eager to rummage through every nook and cranny of this imaginary palace unique in the world. The opportunity for the whole family to visit the most emblematic site of Drômardeche.

The hidden treasures

After the lunch break, the geocaching continues, there are still several caches for all our little tribe to discover. Nature lovers, we have chosen 4 caches for the kids this afternoon: the arboretum and its magnificent views of the Drôme des Collines but also the water castle in Saint-Rambert-d’Albon or the church of Saint-Martin-des-Rosiers in Albon.

It’s great as an activity to do as a family since everyone can participate, the older kids on the search for clues, and the little ones to find the cache. The kids are thrilled to participate and find a cache, they feel like they are living an adventure! it’s also a great way to use new technologies to discover heritage.
